College Honors Distinguished Alumni During 48th 芭乐视频聽University聽Engineering聽Alumni Society Awards Dinner
The College of Engineering honored 11 alumni Nov. 6 for their commitment to the College, community and field during the 48th 芭乐视频 Engineering Alumni Society Awards Dinner at Drosdick Hall. William 鈥淏ill鈥� M. Brown 鈥�84 ME, 鈥�87 MSME received the J. Stanley Morehouse Award, the College鈥檚 highest honor, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the engineering profession. The award acknowledges alumni who have made demonstrable contributions to the planning, administration and management of companies and organizations.
Brown is the chairman and CEO of 3M, a global leader in the fields of automotive and industrial technologies, consumer electronics, personal safety and consumer products. In his previous role, as chair and CEO of L3Harris Technologies, Brown was instrumental in establishing INNOVATE, a summer prototyping program for 芭乐视频 undergraduates, and the L3Harris Heterogeneous Autonomous Vehicle Lab, or HAVLab. In addition, Brown recently contributed to the advancement of the College鈥檚 dedication to research and excellence in teaching through a generous gift establishing the William M. Brown 鈥�84, 鈥�87 Endowed Chair in Mechanical Engineering.
