IGNITE YOUR STRENGTHS TENETS

In developing the Ignite Your Strengths initiative it was important to establish guiding principles for using and implementing CliftonStrengths within °ÅÀÖÊÓÆµ's values and community. When taking the assessment, you should keep these in mind. 

 

VILLANOVA'S IGNITE YOUR STRENGTHS TENETS

 

  • We use our CliftonStrengths results to help us understand ourselves. My signature themes do not define me or limit me. 
  • All strengths, or themes, have value. No one strength is better than another.
  • I possess all 34 of the CliftonStrengths to varying degrees and my top five strengths, or signature themes, provide language for talents that may come more naturally to me and that I may seek to cultivate and nurture.
  • My strengths are a platform from which I may engage in self-reflection and discovery.  
  • We choose to develop our strengths and to use them to help thrive and overcome challenges. We choose a growth mindset where we seek to grow and develop throughout our experiences at °ÅÀÖÊÓÆµ and beyond.
  • We are mindful that strengths can also present challenges or become obstacles, depending on context and circumstance.   
  • My insights into strengths can help me recognize how I might best manage a variety of interests and circumstances.  
  • We affirm the strengths of others and value the strengths each of us brings to the °ÅÀÖÊÓÆµ community. 
  • We appreciate that an effective team may be at its best when a variety of strengths and domains are represented in that team.   
  • We are dynamic, changing and capable. I seek to become the best version of myself, to become who I am not yet.
